Auto Car Finder Listing Rules & Prohibited Content Policy
This Policy explains the standards that apply to vehicle listings, dealership adverts, listing content, images, pricing, and user-submitted material on Auto Car Finder. It is designed to protect buyers, sellers, and the integrity of the platform.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to all vehicle listings, dealer adverts, dealership profile content, images, descriptions, featured placements, promoted listings, and other user-submitted material published on Auto Car Finder.
This Policy applies to private sellers, dealers, dealer groups, fleet sellers, and any other user who publishes or manages listing content on the platform.
2. General listing standards
All listings on Auto Car Finder must be:
- truthful and not misleading;
- lawful and compliant with applicable regulations;
- relevant to the vehicle being advertised;
- clear enough for a buyer to understand what is being offered;
- kept reasonably current while the listing is active.
3. Accuracy requirements
Users must take reasonable care to ensure that a listing accurately reflects the vehicle being advertised, including:
- make, model, year, mileage, transmission, fuel type, and body type;
- price and whether the price includes VAT or other relevant charges where applicable;
- vehicle condition, status, and availability;
- service history, accident history, or other material information where stated;
- dealer or seller contact details.
Important details must not be hidden, omitted, or presented in a misleading way.
4. Duplicate listings
Users may not publish multiple listings for the same vehicle in a way that misleads buyers, manipulates search exposure, or creates unnecessary duplication on the platform.
Auto Car Finder may assess possible duplication using factors such as:
- VIN-related information or vehicle identifiers;
- stock numbers and registration-related data;
- vehicle descriptions, titles, and images;
- price, mileage, dealership identity, and related listing details.
We may hold, review, limit, reject, remove, or relabel listings that appear to be duplicates.
5. Pricing rules
Listings must not use false or misleading pricing practices, including:
- bait pricing intended to attract interest without genuine availability at that price;
- intentionally understated pricing that omits essential compulsory charges;
- placeholder prices that do not represent a genuine sale price;
- advertised finance figures presented as the full sale price in a misleading manner.
Auto Car Finder may require pricing corrections, remove misleading prices, or take moderation action where pricing conduct creates risk for users.
6. Image and media rules
Photos, videos, logos, and other media used in listings must:
- relate to the actual vehicle or be clearly identified if they are generic or illustrative;
- not infringe third-party copyright, trademark, or privacy rights;
- not contain misleading overlays, deceptive edits, or false specifications;
- not contain obscene, unlawful, abusive, or offensive material.
Auto Car Finder may remove or replace non-compliant media, or suspend a listing until compliant media is provided.
7. Vehicle identity and availability
A listing must refer to a real vehicle that the seller or dealer is lawfully entitled to advertise. Listings must not be used for:
- fake stock or unavailable vehicles;
- vehicles the seller is not authorised to market;
- test adverts, placeholders, or traffic-generation listings with no genuine vehicle behind them;
- vehicle cloning, identity manipulation, or concealment of important identifying information for deceptive purposes.
8. Prohibited content
The following content is prohibited on Auto Car Finder:
- false, deceptive, or fraudulent vehicle listings;
- duplicate or spam listings intended to manipulate platform visibility;
- defamatory, abusive, threatening, hateful, or unlawful content;
- stolen vehicle listings or unlawful goods;
- malware, malicious links, phishing attempts, or unsafe scripts;
- content that infringes copyright, trademarks, or privacy rights;
- impersonation of another dealership, seller, or person;
- content that promotes scams, misleading finance claims, or unlawful conduct.
9. Fraud and suspicious activity
Auto Car Finder may investigate suspicious content, listing behaviour, or account activity where we reasonably believe there may be fraud, duplication abuse, impersonation, false identity use, or other platform risk.
We may request supporting information such as:
- proof of ownership or authority to advertise;
- VIN-related verification or vehicle identity information;
- dealership verification documents;
- clarification on duplicate or suspicious listings.
10. Moderation and enforcement
Auto Car Finder may moderate listings and content at its discretion to maintain platform quality, legal compliance, and buyer trust.
Depending on the circumstances, we may:
- request a correction or clarification;
- hold a listing for review;
- reduce visibility or remove promotional features;
- remove or reject the listing;
- suspend or restrict related accounts;
- take additional action where repeated or serious breaches occur.
11. Appeals and corrections
If your listing is held, rejected, or removed, you may contact Auto Car Finder to request clarification or provide corrected information. Submission of corrected information does not guarantee reinstatement, but we may review the matter again where appropriate.
12. Changes to this Policy
Auto Car Finder may amend this Listing Rules and Prohibited Content Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be published on the website with the latest revision date.
